Niagara Books is proud to offer this full-leather edition of Six Tragedies, by William Shakespeare, published in 1975 by the Franklin Library of Franklin Center, Pennsylvania.
This handsome volume of Shakespeare’s work is bound in full-leather with a scarlet ribbon bookmarker sewn into the binding. Overall the book is in very good - condition and does not have a dust jacket. The endpapers are crafted of a burgundy vinyl resembling wood grain. There are five raised ribs and the title, author and designs are gilt on the spine. The boards are also gilt. All four corners are mildly bumped. The binding is tight and the text block and fly-leaves are all intact and are generally free from writing or other markings. The page edges are gilt, although there are some minor dings in the gilt edges. There appears to be some very small white specks (perhaps paint or something like it) on the top of the spine (see pictures), although it is hardly noticeable. The book measures 9 ½ x 6 ½ x 2 and has 640 pages.
Please note, although I cannot smell smoke or mustiness in this book, I cannot guarantee that this book came from a smoke or pet free home.

William Shakespeare (baptized 26 April 1564; died 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the “Bard of Avon”. His surviving works, including some collaboration, consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
